Expert Legal Representation

Practice Areas

With an in-depth understanding of this growing community and a wide variety of civil litigation and trial experience, the Akins Law Firm continues to strive to serve the unique needs of individuals.

Car Accidents
Car accident injuries sometimes lead to chronic pain and disability. If you accept whatever an insurance company offers for your losses, you may not have enough money to pay your bills.
Truck Accidents
We are familiar with trucking regulations that apply in South Carolina and Georgia. We take immediate steps to secure documents needed to prove any violations of safety regulations that occurred.
Wrongful Death
Every wrongful death case is different and may require a different approach on the part of your lawyer. Aggressive representation is needed to hold the responsible party accountable.
Drowning Accidents
Drowning accidents often involve negligence by a pool owner. In cases like this, the civil justice system must hold property owners responsible.
Insurance Bad Faith
When insurance companies fails to investigate claims, deny benefits, or force you to jump through unnecessary hoops to get the coverage you paid for, the insurance company may be guilty of bad faith.
Medical Errors
If the medical providers fail to follow the accepted standard of care and you were injured as a result, you may be entitled to compensation.
Premises Liability
To have a viable case, your lawyer has to be able to show that the store owner created a hazardous condition, or allowed one he or she knew about to remain uncorrected.
Product Liability
When a company makes profit off a product that is injuring consumers due to a defective design or the lack of proper warnings, we take action to keep the unsafe product off the market and to protect families.
Discrimination
One of the most common types of discrimination in the workplace today is age discrimination. It arises from employers seeking to replace men and women in their 40s and 50s with employees who are younger and cheaper.
Wrongful Termination
It is illegal under state and federal laws to fire or otherwise discriminate against an employee on the basis of age, race, disability gender, sex, national origin or religion. In these cases, it is not the termination that is illegal but the underlying reason for it.
Mediation
A certified mediator by the South Carolina Supreme Court, Dale Akins is approved by the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina. Mr. Akins offers his services as a mediator to all interested parties.
